My experience with Sustainergy has been very positive. Our house is over 80 years old and 6,000 square feet. We really wanted to work towards greater efficiency, and we felt that adding insulation to the attic would be a good step. Based on a recommendation from an associate, I reached out to Sustainergy and set up a free consultation. This was incredibly helpful. Lewis looked at our energy bills and did a walk through of our house. In addition to providing a quote for insulation, he made a number of suggestions and insights on other low/no cost energy efficiency measures that we could implement. Honestly, just based on his simple suggestions, we were able to cut on energy use by almost 50% for almost a year now! In January 2024, we decided to move forward with the attic insulation. We bought our house back in October and have had so many problems it was overwhelming. One of the worse issues was that it was only 52 degrees in our master bathroom and kitchen. Since it is an old brick house it was challenging to insulate it but they got it right. The crew was professional, efficient and cleaned up after their work. Then about a year ago they installed a solar panel system on the house. They communicated very well during the project. We were able to get a 30% federal tax credit to help pay for it. The panels have been operational for more than a year and they are generating about 75% of our electricity for the year, what Sustainergy had estimated. I like that they are employee-owned. Taylor is very nice and easy to talk to and genuinely SO good at what she does. MULTIPLE calls,texts and emails confirming the time that I would recieve a visit for the inspection of my attic project. We contracted Sustainergy to do a full assessment of our newly-purchased home. Our energy bills were far too high and the house had cold, drafty spots. Lewis performed a full assessment and recommended 5-6 improvements, ranging from blown insulation in the attic to foam insulation under our floorboards. Additionally, he recommended things that were out of scope for his team (e.g. HVAC repair) that would further improve our energy efficiency. Overall, it was really refreshing for a contractor to focus on the end result (a well-insulated, comfortable home) instead of just focusing on things they could personally charge us for. His team arrived quickly, were super friendly, and did very high quality professional work. As a result, our energy bills went down by more than 50% month-over-month. Sustainergy Cooperative added insulation and sealed some air leaks in the attic and basement of my 1951 ranch home on Cincinnati's west side. The company is worker-owned, and it shows. They dealt with me fairly and honestly, and they were all nice guys. They gave me a written estimate and followed up appropriately but did not pressure me. Scheduling the work was easy. They confirmed right away by email and sent a reminder the day before. The guys who did the work were respectful and professional. We used Hercules Moving and Storage about 25 years ago when we moved from Groesbeck into our home in Liberty Township. The move was flawless, fast, and extremely reasonable. So, naturally, when our son moved back in from out of town, we called Hercules again. From my initial conversations with Stephanie in the office to the actual move itself with Chester and Bob, it could not have gone more flawlessly. And their price quote was dramatically lower than anyone else that we talked to. Stephanie answered all of my repeated calls and questions with patience and good information. If she didn’t know something or wasn’t sure, she said she’d get back with me and she did. (And we all know how rare that is these days.) On the day of the move, the movers (Chester and Bob) got to the out of town location right on time, listened to my thoughts on loading the truck (as some was going to storage and the rest to the house) and went to work. 90 minutes later they were on the road back to Cincinnati. The next morning, they met us at the storage location and were even early! They were extremely efficient at packing the small storage space we’d rented; it was only about half full (and I was originally concerned about getting everything in) and then came to our house and off loaded the rest. In a total of 2 hours, they were done and gone. I simply cannot say enough good things about this company. They’re friendly, efficient, careful, and reasonable. I had the company come out because my lower floor/entry way of my townhouse was very cold and I didn't know why. Also a very cold floor above the garage. They agreed that it was the garage walls causing the problem. While there I showed them the attic and made sense to do that also to save energy costs. After the work was done, the entry way is still the same. I'm guessing walls to outside are problem but that was their job to figure it out. Also the wall bowed in my hallway due the foam injected into the wall from the garage side and needs repaired. So not only did it not resolve my problem, but now I have damage. Also my next energy bill was not significantly changed, so can't even say the extra in the attic helped much. A huge waste of money. Edit: After the company resolved the issues caused by the insulation installation, I am increasing to 4 stars. The company has integrity and did what they could to make the situation right. The product can be a good investment under the right circumstances. Only reasons not to give 5 are 1) Even though they fixed the damage (found more damage to ductwork), it is still an inconvenience to have multiple repairs. 2) With everything fixed it still doesn’t look like the insulation choices were the best options for my situation (Not as much an energy savings or difference in comfort as expected so therefore not as much value vs cost), although I’m hoping once combined with other weather proofing has a better combined effect. That said, the company is going to help me get the 2 doors on the first floor sealed properly (where the wall insulation didn’t help) and a partial refund, so overall I’d still recommend them. - 8/14/2021 

I’ll start by saying that I absolutely hate the process of finding contractors, getting bids, choosing design and selecting the contractor…not to mention the whole construction project. Out of three estimates, Tee’s Flooring came in decently under the other two bids, but cost is not always a deciding factor. From the very start, Tony made me feel comfortable that things would end up the way we both wanted them to…total satisfaction. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be a couple speed bumps along the way. Tony’s crew of 2 installers and a finish guy were totally professional, very respectful of my home and explained things when I asked. The project took one whole day and a finish day of just 1 hour for some trim work. There were no hidden costs and I know Tony had some unforeseen costs associated with my job and he did not ask for compensation. I consider myself a pretty picky person and I would definitely contact Tee’s Flooring for any of my flooring needs. I can say that about less than half of the contractors I have hired in the past, so Tee’s Flooring definitely gets my seal of approval. BTW…punctuality is one of my sticklers and Tony’s team was on time EXACTLY when he said they would arrived. - 8/14/2021 

Our home is 124 years old. Our plaster is directly on the brick, except for the 3rd floor where we have knee walls that are under the roof lines. We needed to insulate so that we could add guest space because the temperature difference was unbearable, especially in the winter. As we went up the stairs, we could feel a cold layer. I got 3 different estimates and they were all about the same. Our Sustainergy assessor, Lewis, was very professional and personable. I decided to use Sustainergy because they are worker owned and Lewis was very helpful when I called to ask lots of follow-up questions. Lewis warned me that the insulation would only make my space LESS cold, but it’s done so much more!! Our 3rd floor is now LIVEABLE!! It’s no longer the coldest place in the house and areas I couldn’t bear to be, I am now sitting in and using!! There is no distinguishable temperature change as we go up the stairs. They saw problems with my bathroom vents not connected and noticed access to my additional room which other companies missed and overlooked. The other companies, not naming any names, wanted to charge me blown fiberglass which I didn’t like, reflective covering only and no additional insulation which I also didn’t like, another company only step on the ladder not actually walking through the attic and they all quoted me higher than Sustainergy Coop. I liked the idea that workers own the company. They will work harder to maintain their business. They did an amazing job. They did as they quoted me and cleaned after. I am a very skeptical person. I was impressed with their knowledge and honesty. I had three assessments done on the energy use of my home, one of which was our gas and electric provider. We are trying to lower our monthly electric bills. They inspired confidence, they were not the cheapest, but I believed they would be the best. Their ideas made sense and coincided with the research I had done on my own when planning this project. They did not try to sell me anything I didn't need, as confirmed by the other estimates. The work was completed in a timely manner. They worked non-stop from the time they arrived until the time they left, even skipping a lunch break on the first day. An owner arrived on the second day and went over their work, even getting into crawl spaces and attics. He made sure we were all on the same page, and that the work was being done correctly. The workers were polite, friendly and respectful of my wife and I and our property.They answered all of my questions. They cleaned up each day, They communicated with each other and with me whenever a decision had to be made. Everything they did exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend them to friends and family. They encapsulated my crawl space and added a humidity& temperature monitor, added insulation in one attic, repaired insulation in another attic, foamed a skylight correctly, added some soffit vents with baffles , and vented two bathroom fans through the roof. They added value to our home. No more worries about water, mold, critters, or frozen pipes in the winter. Happy Customer so far..We will have to see how our energy bills react, but I have to think it will be much better. If not, you will read about it on here. Update 12/9/19..Our Duke energy bill is below $200 a month for the first time in years. As part of an overall process to improve energy efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint, we had Sustainergy perform an energy audit on our home. All went better than expected, until the inspection uncovered a significant mold problem in our attic. This was independently verified by a trusted home inspector. After obtaining several quotes for remediation and for air-sealing/insulation, we selected Sustainergy to do both. Their price was in line with other quotes, and I already had an appreciation for their work. The schedule was complicated by additional HVAC work being done at the time, part of which was in the same attic. Sustainergy arrived each day as planned and worked very nicely to dovetail with the other work. Remediation was careful and thorough, air-sealing was good, and final insulation was amazingly fast and buried all HVAC ducts as requested. An attic isn't something I would normally describe as "beautiful", but in this case that is exactly how I felt about the end product. Throughout the process, the entire crew were courteous and professional. Flequer and Lindsey answered numerous questions and went out of their way to ensure we were all on the same page and that our needs were being met. In fact, I can honestly say I have never worked with a contractor as responsive and customer-focused as Sustainergy, special credit to Flequer. Don't look anywhere else. I can't speak highly enough about Hercules Moving & Storage. They moved us from our house to storage in 2015 and then from storage to our new house in 2016. We had an excellent experience. The estimated time was on target, and the movers clearly knew what they were doing. Fast forward to 2020. We had another double-move, and this time we decided to use a different, local company for the move to storage. It was a nightmare...they took twice as long as they quoted, and it took them two "full trucks" plus a return trip the following day with a third truck that was full on the bottom but not stacked. Hercules moved us from storage to our new home, out of state. The stuff that was on 3 trucks at the other company fit on 1 3/4 trucks for Hercules. These guys know how to pack a truck. They worked together and handled our belongings with so much more care than the other company we used. Don't be distracted by a "clean-cut" moving company with nice, college kids doing the work. The movers at both companies were nice and respectful, but only the ones at Hercules had the experience to do it efficiently (both with space used and time used). - 8/14/2020 

I used Hercules Moving and Storage for the third time in July, 2020. My previous moves were in 2007 and 2013 and my previous review is on Yelp. this time around was another great experience. Russell and the two other men who were him moved us from an apartment on the second and third floor of a two family house to a single floor residence. The day was 95 degrees and the heat index was well over 100. They showed up right on time, were unfailingly polite, not a single curse word about the heat, the steep stairs, the parking. Everything was handled with care. They took apart my bed and put it back together and even tightened the legs on my dining room chairs. There was no issue with heavy items. All three worked unceasingly. At the end of the day I signed the paperwork and they started walking out, not even waiting expectantly for a tip. I had to stop them to tip before they left. Of the 3 well-reviewed companies that bid on my project, only Sustainergy took the time to actually enter into the attic and troubleshoot the situation with me. They were happy to answer all my questions and give me a comprehensive overview of my current energy costs and how to improve them. I was probably going to hire them regardless unless their bid came in significantly higher than their competitors but they came in lowest. Throughout the entire process their pricing was transparent and well-communicated. I made some repairs myself (at their suggestion!) and they reduced their costs accordingly. On the day of the work they arrived on-time and made sure to protect my house and property from any of their work. They also cleaned up afterwards. All their employees were friendly, professional, able to take direction, and gave appropriate and timely feedback. It was a pleasant experience all around and the work they did was superb. Let me start with how I found Sustainergy Coop in the first place. I entered my information with an internet advisor service that submiited my information to companies and stated that I would receive calls back from at least three companies to bid the work. I received a call from Flequer within an hour of posting, still waiting for the others.... I mention this because it is relavent to the review and the character of the folks at Sustainergy. They are hard working honest people that make sure you get full value for every dollar paid to them. They are not afraid to take on challenging work. They will give you multiple solutions to solve your issues without pressuring you on your decision to do all or part of their recommendations.
